A Taxi test is the inspection to assess the fitness off a vehicle to be used as a Hackney Carriage/ Private Hire vehicle. If you pass the inspection you will receive a vehicle test certificate.
What do we test for ?
We test the General condition of the vehicle and the general safety. For example:
- Check the number of seats match the number of passengers shown on licence
- Sufficient means for communicating with the driver.
Once we have completed the general stage we move to the more thorough inspection of the vehicle which includes:
- Seats.
- Steering.
- Suspension.
- Brakes.
- Transmission.
- Other Under Bonnet.
- Vehicle Emissions Check.
- Wheels and Tyres.
- Chassis/ Sub-Frame.
- Body Exterior.
- Body Interior.
- Dashboard.
- Other such as Lights and Horn.
